"Invasion" Just Gets Better

By John Crawford

Invasion

September 29th, 2005

For a second week, Invasion was great!  For network television, this is a real accomplishment.  Most scifi shows tend to fizzle out while in the mainstream, but make enormous comebacks in syndication, Firefly for example.

The plot continues to thicken in Homestead. Of course, if it's a show about aliens here on Earth, there has to be some secret government operation or cover-up involved, and we have it.  The Sheriff and his wife are a difficult to figure out.  It would seem the Sheriff is an alien, and the now his wife is too since she was found unclothed, in the everglades, the morning after the hurricane.  On the flip side, they both have did things that indicate maybe they don't know everything that is going on themselves.  The doctor, is understandable, as her husband told her the first few days are the roughest, and she developing a split personality.  The Sheriff also seems puzzled at some things,  like Paxton's unexplained presence, and injuries.  Or is it an act to deceive those around him?

There's the missing skeletons from Russell's trunk. Did the aliens take it or was it the government? One thing's for certain, I wouldn't be wondering the waters of the everglades at night looking for skeletons.

Did anyone notice the cameo of Cirroc Lofton (aka Jake Sisko of Star Trek: DS9?)

John Crawford is computer geek by day and a scifi fan by night.
