14 Science Fiction Shows That Left Us Hanging (continued)

John Doe (2002)

John DoeJohn Doe premiered on September 20th, 2002 and aired 21 episodes, and an unaired pilot on the 20th Century Fox Television Network. John Doe is a complete mystery. He awakes on an island, not knowing who he is or where he's from, but seems to know just about everything on Earth. While his life is a mystery, he settles in Seattle and takes up with the police to help solve the unsolvable cases. Things and people from his past are there to trip him up. The series was cancelled before he (nor us) could figure out who he was.

Invasion (2005)

Cast of InvasionInvasion premiered on ABC on September 21, 2005. On the heels of the 2005 hurricane seasons that ravaged the United States Southeast, Invasion uses the premise that a hurricane is used as a cover for an alien invasion. Set in a small town somewhere close to Homestead, Florida, parts of two broken families meet the underwater aliens head on. But they have taken possession of most of the town's people, and spreading.

The show is rich with modern family issues such as divorce, problem teenagers, custody, and pregnancy. It's also wrought with power struggles, infidelity, and work/home conflicts. Not to mention the deadbeat uncle that mooches off them. Then we have the aliens that live in the water, and have taken possession of much of the towns people. That's when the deadbeat uncle spings into action. Armed with his camera, cell phone, his blog and a regular following, his general paranoid nature and love of science fiction feed his fight to finding and fighting the aliens.

A full season of 22 episodes were aired, and earned an 8.6 (of a possible 10) rating from tv.com. It is yet another show that ended without finishing the story.
